A couple of weeks ago I visited the Eden Project. I haven’t been for a couple of years, and it was interesting to go in winter this time. Although the biomes are still heated, it is still winter for the plants and they are at different stages of their life cycle. It was slightly disappointingContinue reading “Eden Project”
As if starting Project 35 today were not enough – I also set up a few still life shots of chocolates for this week’s Photo Challenge. I’m not sure which one I’ll use (if any). Any excuse to buy some more chocolate to try some other ideas!
This week, the Photo Challenge was a surprise to me, because Paul set it. It’s a nice feeling, because I get to participate like everyone else. The Challenge was called the 5 Minute Photoshoot: What I want you to do, is find a location (any location, it doesn’t matter. It could be your front room,Continue reading “Pictures of cameras”
I was playing about with the spark plugs on my cooker, and my Tamron 90mm macro lens. I’m quite pleased with the results. Unfortunately the sparks themselves are slightly out of focus. They looked OK on the camera’s screen and it wasn’t until I viewed them on the computer that I realised. Oh well, nextContinue reading “Electric Blue”
This week’s Photo Challenge is Fashion. I took a photo of Hannah’s glasses.
Well, eye of the domesticated cat. Here’s another snap of Lou Lou.
I’d like to introduce you to Lou Lou, our new cat. She’s a rescue cat from the Bristol branch of the Cats Protection League – 4 years old and very playful. We’ve already put one or two photos from our phones on Facebook but these are the first proper photos. I’m sure there will beContinue reading “Meet Lou Lou”
This weekend, Hannah and I went to visit the Eden Project. I went when it first opened (but was not yet completed), so it was hugely different this time. There’s a reasonably predictable selection of flowers and plants here, as well as some photos of the waterfalls. I don’t know what any of these plantsContinue reading “A visit to the Eden Project”
Today I had hoped to go walking in Cheddar Gorge to try out my new wide-angle lens, but it rained 😦 Instead, I stayed in and had a go at something I’ve been meaning to try for months: water drop photos. I don’t have an electronic trigger or anything fancy like that, so it wasContinue reading “Drops of water”
I never realised I had arachnophobia until I zoomed into this photo and looked into the spider’s eyes… *shudder* I think this is a wolf spider, although I’m not sure. I trapped it in a pint glass, and it was big enough to touch the entire rim of the glass with its legs.
