I was playing about with the spark plugs on my cooker, and my Tamron 90mm macro lens. I’m quite pleased with the results. Unfortunately the sparks themselves are slightly out of focus. They looked OK on the camera’s screen and it wasn’t until I viewed them on the computer that I realised. Oh well, nextContinue reading “Electric Blue”

A visit to the Eden Project
This weekend, Hannah and I went to visit the Eden Project. I went when it first opened (but was not yet completed), so it was hugely different this time. There’s a reasonably predictable selection of flowers and plants here, as well as some photos of the waterfalls. I don’t know what any of these plantsContinue reading “A visit to the Eden Project”
A fly
I’ve now owned my Tamron 90mm macro lens for a few weeks, and yet hardly used it. Today I walked to some local woodland and crawled around for half an hour taking photos of insects. It’s quite hard to hold the camera still enough, and you need a lot of light. You need to keepContinue reading “A fly”
Some macros
As I wrote recently on my blog, I bought a Tamron 90mm macro lens. Up until today, I’d only published a boring photo of a piece of Velcro. But over the last few days I’ve taken a few photos with it, and here are the results. This is a screw. Bonus points to anyone whoContinue reading “Some macros”
My Tamron 90mm macro lens
I quite enjoy macro photography. When I used to use my Fuji S9600 as my main camera, it had a super macro mode, which allowed me to focus on objects as close as 1cm. That was pretty handy for macro shots and the results were generally good – such as this disgusting pupa. Since swappingContinue reading “My Tamron 90mm macro lens”
Velcro
This is nothing more than a test shot for my new Tamron 90mm macro lens. If you’re interested, I’ve written a few words about it on my geek blog. No doubt there will be many more macro images posted here in the future! 🙂
Camera bag
I just realised yesterday that I haven’t played with my macro extension tubes since I got a couple of new lenses for my DSLR. I was just messing around when I took this photo but I think it’s of my camera bag, which was on my desk. I love how the background looks like smoke.
Lend us a quid?
Taken with a 50mm prime lens and macro extension tube on my Canon 450D.

Teeny tiny
This week’s Photo Challenge is called What is it?. The idea is to take an extreme close up of something, so it’s hard to tell what it is. I’m still getting to grips with my new Canon 450D, but I bought a set of macro extension tubes and I’ve been experimenting. I may or mayContinue reading “Teeny tiny”
