Burano

I love the toy-town coloured houses along the canal, leading to the lagoon of Venice, taken from the island of Burano.

Split

Walking along Split harbour a little, this is the view. Notably, you can see the bell tower of the cathedral.

Dome

This large room is dome shaped with a circular hole in the roof. The acoustics are perfect – we heard a traditional Croatian men’s choir sing here.

Mountain road

This steep road leads from the port of Messina to the town of Taormina, through the foothills of Mount Etna. The coach I travelled on passed along the roads you see here minutes before I took the photo.

Greek theatre

The Ancient Greeks built a theatre in Taormina, Sicily. Part of the back wall is now ruined, revealing this view of Mount Etna.

Livorno lighthouse

Leaving the port of Livorno, there was a long harbour wall with several lighthouses along its length. This is one of them.
